WHY PURPLE EARTH?
According to the ‘Purple Earth Theory’, way back before us humans came along, early planet Earth may have looked purple rather than green. Scientists have hypothesised that instead of chlorophyll, primeval organisms used something called ‘retinal’ to process energy from the sun. While chlorophyll is responsible for the green colour of today’s plants, retinal gives off a purple hue. So actually, purple is not really the new green. It’s more like the old green. Who knew, right? As it happens, a purple Earth would not actually have been habitable by humans, so as the protectors of this incredible planet, our efforts should indeed be to keep our home as green as possible!

OUR MISSION IS TO BE AS PLANET FRIENDLY AS POSSIBLE
Biodegradable in 1-5 years in normal landfill conditions. We use naturally sourced sustainable rubber for the bulk of the mat. We’ve etched our unique alignment guide, instead of printing with potentially harmful inks. We’ve also used an innovative heat-bonding process to eliminate the need for toxic glues to bind the top and base layer. All of our Yoga mats are PVC-free!
ALIGNMENT SYSTEM
Intelligent markers are etched on our mats to provide as much or as little navigational help as you need. Our original ‘AlignForMe’ system was designed to assist Yogis of all shapes and sizes!
